PINK!

If Pink is your favorite color then it goes without saying that everything at the wedding will be Pink! Honey and Cody's wedding on Saturday was perfect and definitely very pink.  Pink satin linens, pink satin bows on lovely white chivari chairs, pink bridesmaids dresses, pink desserts, pink favors- really pink everything!

If your name is Honey, you probably should have honeysticks for your favors (in shades of pink, of course). And bite sized red velvet cake Bon Bons on your dessert bar. And every pink candy for take home in little favor bags.

The Bellini bar was a huge hit with summer fruit and bubbly, as was gazebo area festive with pink and white globes and draped in gauzy white chiffon.  Delicious!

Family is the Theme of this Wedding Day!

Many of our couples who marry at Rancho Soquel are from out of the area so this week we were delighted to host a local Aptos couple . The sense of community and family themed through the day with dolmas made by the groom's Dad and jam made by the bride's Mom.

Heaps of berries were provided by the brides employer, Driscoll berries, and cookies from the Pacific Cookie Company for dessert!

A fantastic tribute to their grandparents was the centerpiece of the guest book table with a lace runner made by grandma underneath. It was one of the most joyous weddings of the season and a real outpouring of family love

A Whole Weekend of Love and Good Times!

Amanda and Brett really packed in the fun this past weekend with their destination wedding in Santa Cruz. An afternoon Wine Tasting picnic at Hunter Hill preceded the rehearsal which was followed by a cocktail hour and dinner at Chaminade. The Wedding at Rancho Soquel was a gorgeous day filled with fantastic toasts and heart felt speeches. His and hers signature cocktails added another personal twist to the day!

The groom serenaded the bride in a surprise song prior to the cutting of the Red Velvet and Funfetti cake cutting.  Afterwards, the whole group boarded the busses and headed to Michaels on Main for an after party. No resting....a BBQ was planned at Seacliff Beach the following afternoon. We know everyone had a fantastic time and hope they are recovering nicely from all that excitement.  What a wedding!

Best idea we've seen for table names...photos of the bride and the  groom in different stages of their lives as they were growing up Babies to Elementary school to College. The guests seated at those tables corresponded to that time in their lives...childhood chums, high school friends, college friends. A clever and super unique idea.

Away at Camp for Your Wedding Weekend!

What if you could go back to Summer Camp, just for a weekend, with your grown-up friends?

There would be Yoga in the morning, Swimming, Archery, Games, a Ropes course, Crafts, Movies outside at night-all those good things. But there would also be kegs of hand crafted beers and grown up snacks available 24/7.

Upon checking in, along with their blankets and pillows and directions to their cabins, sashes with the campers names were tucked inside their welcome bag as well as a map, snacks and a schedule of events for the weekend. Campers could earn “Badges” for their sashes throughout the weekend by participation. Everything kind of activity was celebrated with a badge from playing board games, enjoying smores and swimming to getting an “owie” and overindulging. It was a “gamers’ wedding come true!

Sound like your kind of weekend? A Redwood Grove Ceremony with a fantastic outdoor Reception and dancing with party DJ Matt Riley, Pie and Ice Creme and an afterparty with Cotton Candy and Popcorn and more drinks, of course.

This was the dream wedding for Alanna and Haru and they made it happen last week at Camp Campbell in Ben Lomond. It was a truly amazing, extremely well planned weekend wedding that the guests will never forget
